Visas

No possibility to get visa at border. It is necessary to get it in home country ambassy.
But it is possible (not always) to obtain a visa for 15 days on arrival in main airports in Iran.

If you make demand in your consulate you will need an "authorisation number" from Ministry of Foreign Affaires in Tehran. This is obtained from iranian travel agencies (http://en.key2persia.com, http://touranzamin.com/en) and costs about 30€/person.

If visa denied, the passport will be returned to the applicant and no reason will be given for the rejection and fee will not be refund. Price depends of your nationality.
Holders of British passports have to be fingerprinted.
May be they will ask for MFA authorization number. Contact Key2Persia (http://en.key2persia.com/iran-visa-key-2-persia) to obtain it (fee 30€).
